Nov 2015 - JCI Announces Transfer of Certain NetHere Hosting Customers
JohnCompanies Inc (JCI) announced that it has completed the transfer of over 1000 customer accounts from NetHere Inc. including many of NetHere's SimplyInternet and Znet customers.
Services transferred included web hosting, email and domain registration. Internet access accounts for dial-up and DSL were NOT part of the transfer agreement and remained with NetHere.
Web sites and email hosting services (including webmail) were transferred over night and did not affect IP addresses, log-in credentials or other aspects of customer access.
Transferred customers will be integrated with the shared hosting services provided by JCI's LAMP Host division (see www.lamphost.com) and will be supported by JCI's professional and knowledgeable technical and customer-care support staff. In addition JCI will honor NetHere billing dates and service charges for all transferred customers.

Sep 2014 - JCI Completes Acquisition of LAMP Host

announced that it has completed the acquisition of LAMP Host, a San Diego based hosting company that
provides domain registration, web hosting and managed cloud hosting services to over 200 customers.
The LAMP Host service offerings complement JCI's dedicated server and open-source VPS hosting products and allows the combined business to offer an expanded line of services and a broader array of hosting capabilitites to customers. This merger will allow JCI to offer managed hosting in addition to our current unmanaged VPS and dedicated servers.
The acquisition and merger will not affect host servers, IP addresses or any of the services that customers of both companies have come to expect. No support positions were eliminated as a result of the transaction and customers can continue to work with the same dedicated technical support team with added depth from combining support capabilities.

Plan 3, 4 and 5 servers also come standard with a secure Remote Management Module (RMM) with a separate IP address. The RMM allows remote KVM access and reboot via browser and ID/password login. The RMM is a dedicated out-of-band management interface card. It runs regardless and independent of the state of your server and does not depend on the installed OS.
